Inspired by Marrakech

Colour, Soul & the Art of Living Beautifully

Every year we try to carve out time to step away, recharge, and come back feeling inspired — and this year we headed to Marrakech for a yoga retreat. It was exactly what we both needed: space to breathe, slow down, and return to ourselves.

Between sessions, we took a couple of day trips into the city — and Marrakech never fails to astound us. The souks are a feast for the senses: mountains of spices in burnt orange and saffron yellow, handwoven textiles in jewel-like colours, intricately worked lanterns casting the most beautiful dappled light. It's impossible not to come home with your imagination completely alight.

We also visited the Jardin Majorelle — the legendary gardens created by Jacques Majorelle and later restored by Yves Saint Laurent. The cobalt blue of the buildings against the vivid greenery is one of those colour combinations that stays with you long after you've left. It's a masterclass in how bold, unexpected colour choices can feel completely right in the right context.

The trip reminded us that some of the greatest design inspiration comes not from showrooms, but from living — from wandering a medina, sitting in a riad courtyard, noticing how afternoon light falls through a carved screen. We're already letting these ideas filter quietly into our work.
